This is my new motto for the next *at least* 365 days. People recently have been underestimating me and telling me I can’t. So I found this quote…..

A little background first. My friends and I are all OBSESSED with Harry Potter, this quote is from my friend as several of us were talking on facebook.

YOU GUYS! I just realized that in the tale of the 3 brothers, one died for power, the second for lost love and the 3rd greeted death like an old friend. Well in Deathly Hallows, Voldemort dies for power. Snape dies for lost love. And HARRY GREETS DEATH LIKE AN OLD FRIEND! o_O

Hey everybody!

So I posted a random quote from National Treasure 2 on my facebook page the other day, and my friend brought up a very good point.

The quote was from Ben Gates, talking to the President in the tunnels under the cellar.

Everything I am is because of my ancestors

My friend argued that:

We all make our own way, choose our own path to follow.

On some accounts, he is right, however I returned that:

While we still have our agency and our ability to choose, every person leaves a legacy (whether good or bad) and that legacy will influence your posterity. It could influence them to be like “hey look, that person was good example, I want to be like that when I grow up.” or it could influence them to be like “Woah! I am NEVER following that example.” but it will always influence them. Speaking for myself: I am who I am, and where I am, because of them and their examples and choices. Both physically and spiritually. Physically- I AM because they chose to marry who they did and go where they went. Spiritually- IAM because I derive strength from their examples. I have the ability to choose my path, and I have chosen to follow them. Thus, Everything I am is because of my ancestors.

But now my curiosity is piqued. What is your veiw on this issue? Do you agree with my friend? Do you agree with me? or do you have a whole different oppinion entirely?

Story of my life. Pessimists are often called ‘Realists’. Optimists are often called ‘Fantastics’. …I have been called both, and when I tell people that, they say I’m crazy and thats impossible. They always tell me:

“You can’t be both. You have to be a ‘glass half empty’ person or a ‘glass half full’ person. So, which is it?”

BUT I’M NOT EITHER!!!! YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE!!!!!!!! You can be a realist- optimist just fine! you can not care! You can simply be a ‘if there is any harmless substance in that glass and YOU aren’t going to drink it, then I WILL!” person. That’s the type of person I am. so quit stereotyping. Seriously. The Glass, be it half full or half empty, needs to be drank People! Put aside your differences and just drink the stupid thing! Seriously! Just drink the thing so you don’t die. cuz that would be sad. …..okay. ranting over.

When you think of the word “future” what do you think of? Do you think of careers and jobs you may have later in life? Your children’s wedding days? Goals you have set for yourself? That’s all well and good….for the NEARBY future. What about for the long term future? Do you see wars or peace? Do you see more inventions? What types? Do you see greater societies (economically speaking) or depression?

No matter what the (long-term) future turns out to be, it will be what the majority thinks it will be, even now. If a great number of people envision peace, peace there will be. Inventions are already being created in the minds of the young generation through their imaginations. If economic trimuph is strived for by all, then it will be achieved.

This is the lllaaasssttt Joan of Arc quote. Don’t fret though, I have more…just not from Jeannne DArc (Joan of Arc’s real name).

Joan of Arc Quote Numero Dos! (Number 2, for those of you who don’t speak spanish)

Soooo, I’ve kinda been going through this Joan of Arc phase and found some AWESOME quotes from her. For the next 6 days (including today) I will share those with you. For those of you who don’t know, Joan of Arc was a visionary who saw and heard “angels”. These quotes, therefore, are religious. If you are opposed to this, please read no further.

A toast. To High Treason. That’s what these men were committing when they signed the Declaration. Had we lost the war, the would have been hanged, beheaded, drawn and quartered-oh and my personal favorite- had their entrails cut out and BURNED! So here’s the men who did what was considered wrong in order to do what they knew was right. What they knew was right.

I watched the movie National Treasure staring Nicolas Cage the other day. This is one of my FAVORITE lines! With American Independence Day rapidly approaching, this line rang true to me. Another quote that kind of supports the one above says:

What’s right is not always popular and what’s popular is not always right.

Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and act.

It means that those who have the ability to take action have the RESPONSIBLITY to take action.

Do not wait on the sidelines for something you believe or know to be immoral, inhumane or unjust to change. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!!! Stand up for what you know to be right, even if it means you’re standing alone.
