Freedom!

Posted by Hope  Published in Other Articles

On July 4th family, friends, and relatives will be celebrating the United State’s independence from Britain, although we all just like cooking hot dogs on the grill, maybe getting a nice tan in the sun, and watching the fireworks at night. This was also the day when Continential Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence. But [...]

2012: The End of the World

Posted by Hope  Published in Prediction, world

It is June…and the theme of the month is Apocalypse (a.k.a. “the end of the world)! I was just randomly Googling “Apocalypse” and I happened to come around to this website www.apocalypse2012.com. Personally, I do not believe the world is going to end in 3 short years, however, I was intrigued by this website and [...]

An American Television Tragedy (For at least some)

Posted by Hope  Published in Music

If you keep up with the television show American Idol, you would have already known that Kris Allen won the title as the “American Idol”. Of course I do not agree with this. I started writing a whole entire article saying why Kris Allen did not deserve it and analyzing every little detail. I got [...]

Domestic Violence

Posted by Hope  Published in Health, Other Articles

Most people have heard about the Rihanna and Chris Brown story;  supposedly he hit her with an umbrella (ironic, I know)  from inside a limo and caused damage to her face and neck. If you have seen the pictures, it is devastating and I do not believe anyone deserves to be treated like this. Domestic violence [...]

Love is in the air for some people. Whether you are single or in a relationship, love the holiday or hate the holiday, February 14th is still going to come and go by like a slow moving turtle, or like the speed of light (yeah…someone really needs to help me with similes). But with all [...]

Izze- A Healthy Alternative

Posted by Hope  Published in Health

How it was started: Izze was created when two normal guys, Todd and Greg, were having lunch together in 2003. They thought it would be amazing to create a great tasting product while contributing that money to a worthy cause. This drink was inspired by European drinks they recently tried which they thought tasted high-quality. [...]

Clocky: Crushing the Dreams of Snooze Button People Everywhere

Posted by Hope  Published in Technology

Here’s the catch: if you don’t wake up right away, or you hit the snooze button too many times, you’re going to have to get up and shut it off because it’ll be halfway across the room, thanks to it’s very own set of wheels. It purposely has a very annoying ringing sound that makes it impossible to sleep through- think of R2d2 from Star Wars.

New 3G iPhone

Posted by Hope  Published in Technology

If you remember, I wrote an article a while ago about the iPhone. The price was outrageous- and I guess they listened to the public, because there’s a new iPhone! Don’t you think that sooner or later people are going to get tired of the new upgraded iPhones because then the public feels like they [...]

Help Those Less Fortunate

As usual, I am a huge Oprah fan and I was totally inspired by her latest episode. It was about helping schools in West Africa, East Africa, South Asia, East Asia, and Latin America. Hybrid cars

Posted by Hope  Published in Cars

The only real big difference between normal cars and hybrid cars is that hybrid cars have a special system that captures braking energy, which is then stored in an onboard battery.

People are now picking hybrids because hybrids are the most gasoline efficient of all cars, they typically get 48 to 60 mpg. That’s great, but it’s only about 20% to 35% better than a fuel efficient gasoline powered vehicle such as the Honda Civic in which gets 36 mpg. When you compare prices, however, hybrids cost from $19,000 to $25,000 and gas saver cars cost $14,000 to $17,000.

Not only is the hybrid cars fuel efficient, it is also “green” for the environment, and we all know this website is definitely pro-environment. But hybrid cars offer more than just great fuel economy, they offer many green advantages as well. Where pollution is the worst (large cities), it produces smaller emissions when you’re in those stop-and-go traffic jams.

Applaud Japanese companies because the two hybrid cars that are the most popular are the Honda Insight and the Toyota Prius. Come on, U.S., catch up!

Music of the Future

Have you noticed that music in the 2000′s hasn’t been nearly as good as music from like the 80′s? Hit’s from the 80′s include Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, I Love Rock N’ Roll, Material Girl, and Jessie’s Girl plus many more. It’s amazing what kind of music is popular among the current teen generation. [...]

Should sixteen year olds be able to vote? I mean, you know there are mature teens as well as others that aren’t.
