The Nearby Future is a virtual gathering of people with ideas. People who can change the world with a simple but intelligent suggestion. Everything we do has a ripple effect, bad or good. If, let’s say, you put a really great outlook on cars in a comment box and people strongly agree with you, congratulations! You have just helped someone (or many someones) think outside the box with your writing.

You see, that’s what this site is all about. Saying, ‘here’s the general black-and-white idea of this’ and then showing you a different view. We’re all about figuring out the future, speculating on what will happen next.

So read what we have to say, form your opinion, and get out there and change this world before it’s too late.

-The Nearby Future Staff

The Staff Members

This site isn’t managed by just one person- it has a whole staff of writers who like to tell it like it is while informing the general population on things they may not see on the news.

Here are the pen names of those on our dedicated staff:

Rika: Opinionated and interested about technology, Rika writes mostly about computers, cell phones, and a bunch of articles here and there.

Calister F. Wells: The writer who argues nonstop with Rika, Calister F. Wells takes the opposite side on almost every debate. He’s for flying cars, Rika and Ashley Lampost are against it. He’s the sarcastic guy who loves a debate. He also runs a separate blog entitled “The Wells Mission”. Visit it here.

Jala: Jala loves books- she has them down to a science. She can come up with wild theories about the future of books that are hard to imagine now, but may actually happen.

Kendra: Kendra doesn’t write at all, except for her polls. Her polls are created to decipher some mysteries of the human mind.

Ashley Lampost:Ashley Lampost is a very thoughtful writer: she crams many, many ideas into her articles that get recognized from every which way.

Jennith: Jennith is against animal cruelty and is for the advancement of animal rights. She also writes a lot of articles about technology, and helps out by giving her view into debates.

Hope: Hope puts journalists to shame with her “attack-the-issue-from-all-sides” tactic. She presents accurate facts for all points of view and lets the reader decide what side they’re on. Like the rest of us, she ‘hopes’ for a better future!

The Piratical Lord of the Guitars: The Piratical Lord of the Guitars loves music- she can name the huge music stars in rapid fire succession. She’ll fight on the side of music producers and artists until the end.

Contributers:

These are the writers who aren’t officially on the staff. They are the people who write for us (and whose articles have to be approved) simply to write. Think of them as the editorial writers.

Socrates: writes philosophies

DarkPrinceofAwesome/Nero: *rolls eyes* that’s all I have to say.

Wow. How many people actually know about this website? Not everyone’s on the staff, right?

No, not everyone is the staff- it’s just me, (Calister F. Wells), possibly the most annoying person on Earth (Rika), the person who breathes books (Jala), Ashley Lampost, Jennith, and Piratical Lord of the Guitars. As for how many people know about this website, apparently not enough for me to complete my plan of taking over the world.

    Thanks for posting!

Haha. I heard that. Rika’s definitely annoying. Ha. Not so much. Anyway, I think it’s great what you guys are doing with this. Keep it up. I’ll plaster this site pretty much everywhere I can, if you guys want. And about world domination…
    Ha.

ExCUSE me? I’m annoying? ME? *pretends to look offended* I’m the one who does all the work around here and Calister goes around telling people that I’m annoying? There goes his possible page… *cackles evilly*

What the heck? First thing: Jala doesn’t write, she rephrases what she already said. Rika is the writer and if you want annoying- hello look at Calister!! LOL

    Hi Calister,

Thanks for your comment on my blog. It’s good to know that I’m not the only one who’s no fun at parties!

My task is to take some time to return the favor and see what you’re doing here. I’m off to sign up.
