A Self Sustaining, Self Repairing Future!

One thing that we can look forward to is a very self-sustainable future. One product is paving the way towards a future which products repair themselves!

French scientists have created rubber that, when pinched together after being sliced, can mend and be as good as new! The process takes an hour, but this is definitely an important leap towards more innovative products and designs.

See the process in action here.

Why this is important:

Just think: we can do so much with this! In places, such as outer space, where repairing gear might be difficult, self repairing space ships, space gear, fuel tanks; so many worries can be eliminated. We are always looking for a way to make space travel much more safe, and this is yet another invention that may bring us closer to where we want to be in terms of safety.

I have just one thing to add, if space equpment repaired itself then why would we need astronauts to go to space and fix broken equipment? So why are we still going to space if everything functions on it’s own just fine?

Well actually one second i just thought of something well the astronauts are up there for the research, but how much more is there to know? and won’t technology advance to where it can research for us?

We’ve got a whole universe to explore out there! We, personally, haven’t been able to study the surface of many planets, and robots can only do so much. Sure, they can bring pictures and samples, but research always goes faster when we can be on the planet itself. Space is one giant mystery and we have so much to learn about it. For example, why can’t we see black holes? Does the universe go on and on? Are there many universes out there, all in different stages?

Technology will advance, but nothing beats actually being there. A better spaceship would be nice, I’m sure! Good ideas. And space equipment repairing itself would still need a prompt from humans, anyways, (unless we can work fixing that), although the repairing process is much easier.
