Once, in the midst of battle and strife and affliction, a wise man tore his cloak and wrote upon it:
In Memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives and our children.
He then fastened that cloak upon a pole, this became a standard for his nation.
Centuries- even millinia- later, fifty-five other wise men wrote these words on the Fourth of July, 1776:
And for support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.
345 days later, the United States of America adopted a flag.
Today, the Fourteenth of June, we celebrate this flag and all that it stands for. Though it has changed through the years, as more territories became states, it has been a symbol for the same things.
It is a symbol of our “Unalienable rights” of “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”.
Proud To Be An AMERICAN
