Soldiers, it seems to me, get a REALLY bad and EXTREMELY unfair reputation. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said:
A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, he is only brave five minutes longer.
Think about it. Question: How many of us could actually do the job once that they do every day and have the mental and physical strength to keep going? Answer: Very very few. They are the strongest men and women in the world. They leave their loved ones to protect everyone (people they do know, as well as people they don’t). They don’t know if they will ever get to hold their spouse or child in their arms again.
They care about their country enough to fight for the rights of every citizen there. The protesterswho wear “Anti-war”/”Don’t-support-the-troops” Shirts, they fight for the right for those people to wear those shirts. People think their life is ruined because their get in a small argument with a friend; They see their comrades fall around them and still push on. Trust me, They have it soooo much harder than most of us could even imagine. Give them some credit. If that’s too much to ask, maybe you need put your priorities into check.
*Love, Sarah*
