This is kind of an “unofficial” post. It has nothing to do with anything except me telling the world how AMAZING Rika is. She is INCREDIBLE!!!!! Remember how my VERY FIRST post here was about Script Frenzy Month? “http://www.thenearbyfuture.com/2010/04/script-frenzy-month/ ” well, anyways Rika gave me the most EPIC news today. (Please keep in mind that this contest marks my first script EVER where as Rika has already done countless). So I was working on my handwriten copy, lamenting over the unlikely-hood of being able to meet the April 30th deadline, when Rika comes up and looks over my sholder.
“Hey, Sarah.” She says, “What are you up to?”
I voice to her my worries and concerns. Taking on her ‘big-sister-slash-best-friend-slash-experienced-script-writer’ role, she gently pries the pages of ink-covered madness from my grasp.
“What? You’re actually doing really good!” I figure she is just saying that
“I am no where close to the boundary!” I whine
She just smiles. “Each hand-written page of dialogue equals about two pages typed in script format. Monolouges are even more. If its okay with you, I’ll take this back to my desk and type it up for you so you can see how far-”
Jala interjects here “or close”
Rika again, “Yes, or how close, you really are.”
WHAT?!?!?!? 2 things. 1st- Why didn’t I know about that? It would have saved so much stress! oh well. and MORE IMPORTANTLY…#2- THANK YOU RIKA!!!!!!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
