Some days we win. Some days we lose. Sometimes both happen in the same day and we get handed a blended mix of things to deal with.
You’ve felt this way more often recently. The economy is not everyone’s friend, and it’s a trying time for all.
What’s this? Oh! I know! Inspirational story time with Rika!

Romeo, the runt of the litter
Today was great. Coming home with amazing news, living life to the fullest. We take care of foster kittens, so naturally my first visit was to the kittens. I love these kittens like children, and seeing one lifeless didn’t do much for my happy day. Losing Romeo (luckily Juliet is still alive) was hard; he was the runt of the litter and we’re renaming Juliet so the bad luck doesn’t continue because she’s just as small (almost smaller) than Romeo. The shelter suggested we try bottle feeding Juliet until she got bigger. Right then, it seemed too much. It seemed easy to hand them off to someone else to take care of, to give them up. But that’s not the way it works. That’s not the way life works. Giving up on innocent lives helps no one. So we’re doing everything we can to keep each one of the barely 2 week kittens alive.
What I’m trying to say is that you can’t let a loss- no matter how devastating- keep you from just giving up. The future will be more different. With our aging planet, the forecast for problems is increasing. We have to find a way to deal with this in an effective levelheaded way or it’ll be difficult to battle what’s to come.

I know you will do a great job doing all you can to do what is best for Juliet (until a new name is announced). It was not your fault that Romeo passed away, and I think it’s great that you’re not giving up. But you never give up anyway lol
Aw! I’m soo sorry! do you have any name ideas for renaming Juliet yet?
