First impressions. They matter. The first thing that comes out of your mouth when you say something has the strongest effect because things we tend to say first are the truest.
In politics, this is especially true. Do you think our President has room for “do-overs” if he messes up on his speech? No. When speaking to foreign leaders, one slip up could cost thousands of lives.
So whatever you’re doing, say what you mean and mean what you say.
If an answer leaves you composing half truths, maybe it’s not the right thing to say after all.
Often times, you only get one chance.
Don’t blow it.
