Yes, we’re amidst an economic crisis.
Yes, something must be done. Priorities must be reshuffled.
But panicking is not an option.
Just a glance at Buisness Week or the NY Times shows that, although times are tough, people aren’t throwing their hands up helplessly and calling it quits. (Well most of the people)
The recession is just like Monopoly. When your brother has Boardwalk AND Park Place, you have to strike up some deals to buy the whole row of properties after Go so that you can get some cash for the inevitable roll that will land you on Boardwalk. AND Park Place. Especially if you have my luck. You have to bargain and pay your way out of jail and hold out until you pass go to collect your hard earned cash.

You’re going to have to buy those railroads and the Electric Company, splurge on some hotels because eventually the dice will bring your opponents (who are as equally competitive as you!) to your spaces.
And even if you find yourself underwater, you may just land on Free Parking.

Lol I like the monoply comparison.
I like the Monopoly comparison as well. People will read this article and think about it more. I would say it’s almost like a Homeric similie, but kinda not. You’re comparing something familiar to everyone to an economic crisis that we are facing. Great article!
