News people like celebrities. They like to write about them. They like to buy photos of them. They like to stalk celebrities to get photos to sell. Like the war on Iraq and crime in general, the news is in love with celebrities, too.
What good do celebrities do? Not very much. They smoke, drink, get arrested for a few days, (“What did you do THIS time Paris Hilton?” “I murdered someone, officer” “We’ll put you in for 24 hours this time.”) and then get released and plan their next arrest. Besides bad influences for our kids, they serve as a distraction to daily life.
