Actually, Herbert Hoover was probably not the last president to promise to get rid of poverty. And besides, you completely missed the piece where we ‘ship’ all our jobs to other countries. People in America are being layed off for people in India that will do the work for a quarter of the pay. ‘sigh’ I don’t know, “Rika”. We might be headed for a depression. Let’s cross our fingers, eh?

[p.s.]
The Teapot Dome Scandal really had nothing to do with Harding promising to abolish poverty.

That IS a point I didn’t cover- the job loss- and it’s very perceptible of you to catch that. And the Teapot Dome Scandal didn’t have nothing to do with poverty- I just think that whenever a President tries to abolish poverty, something bad happens (i.e. the Great Depression or the Teapot Dome Scandal) that kind of says, “Hey! This is NOT possible!”

Great opinions, ‘DarkPrinceofAwesome’.

Hehe. I’ve been told that several times. Maybe because I’m a master. Maybe not.

That’s all the persuasion I need.
That and a cupcake, of course.

[...] But the article we wrote back in February happened to have a correct prediction in comparing the oncoming recession to the Great Depression. [...]
